The Mobile Security Card - Smartcard goes mobile!


The Mobile Security Card is a standard mass storage card supplemented with an additional secure element. This enables the Mobile Security Card to provide smart card functionality for security operations such as PKI key management or key generation. It is available as a microSD™ card form factor.

No additional smart card reader necessary for portable devices

The advantage of a Secure Flash Card is, that a smart card reader for portable devices is not needed any more, because the microSD™ slot already exits in many devices, particularly in mobile devices. For portable devices, e.g. PDAs or smartphones, the microSD™ format is the most adopted mass storage form factor.
Together with an additional adapter, miniSD and SD equipped devices are supported as well.

Driver and the new Generic Security Interface (GSI)

The secure element can be accessed via the physical SD interface using the Mobile Commerce Extension protocol (standardized by the SDA) or G&D‘s Generic Security Interface (file system based). The drivers offer a PC/SC (or similar) interface for easy integration into smart card applications.
